La domotica per la casa si evolve verso uno standard di compatibilità unico che punta a semplificare la facilità di utilizzo e l’affidabilità dei prodotti per la smart home.

Amazon, Apple, Google e Zigbee Alliance hanno annunciato, lo scorso 18 dicembre, di essersi accordate per sviluppare e promuovere l’adozione di un nuovo standard di connettività privo di royalty per aumentare la compatibilità fra i prodotti di domotica, con la sicurezza come colonna portante.

Casa domotica: cosa prevede l’accordo sulla ‘smart home’

L’obiettivo del progetto, dal nome Connected Home over IP, è rendere possibile la comunicazione fra dispositivi di domotica, app mobili e servizi cloud e definire un set specifico di tecnologie di rete basate su IP per la certificazione dei dispositivi.

Il gruppo di lavoro adotterà un approccio open source per sviluppare e implementare un nuovo protocollo di connettività unificato che prenderà spunto anche da tecnologie smart home già collaudate di Amazon, Apple, Google, Zigbee Alliance e altre aziende.

Secondo le Big della tecnologia, la scelta di sfruttare queste tecnologie dovrebbe accelerare lo sviluppo del protocollo e portare benefici a produttori e consumatori.

Il progetto punta soprattutto a migliorare i dispositivi compatibili con servizi smart home e vocali come Alexa di Amazon, Siri di Apple, Assistente Google e altri.

Infatti, se al momento l’utente che sceglie di affidarsi a ‘Siri’ perde la possibilità di sfruttare appieno il mondo Google e Amazon, dall’uscita del protocollo (prevista per il 2020), realizzare prodotti compatibili con i tre assistenti più diffusi al mondo sarà più facile.

Questa ‘rivoluzione’ potrà dare gas alla diffusione della domotica nelle case di tutto il mondo.
